ICT Mahidol Organized “Understanding Gen-AI Students: Shaping the Future of Learning Together” Workshop to Enhance AI Skills and Strengthen Collaboration with Secondary School Teachers

On July 15, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized the workshop “Understanding Gen-AI Students: Shaping the Future of Learning Together” for guidance counselors and computer science teachers from 11 secondary schools. The workshop was held in Computer Laboratory IT103, the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The workshop was led by Dr. Pisit Praiwattana, Assistant Dean for Organizational Communications and Media Technology, who shared his expertise and guided participants through hands-on activities on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning. The training covered key topics, including AI fundamentals and common misconceptions, practical approaches to using AI as a teaching assistant, assessment and evaluation in AI-enabled learning environments, and a “Policy and Risk Challenge” activity. The interactive session encouraged participants to exchange perspectives on AI-related policies, risks, and challenges in education, from the secondary school to the higher education level.

Following the workshop, Dr. Pisit Praiwattana introduced ICT Mahidol’s academic programs and admission criteria for the 2027 academic year. He presented the Faculty’s two undergraduate programs: the Bachelor of Science Program in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program) and the Bachelor of Science Program in Digital Science and Technology (DST Thai Program). The event concluded with the presentation of certificates to all participants, followed by closing remarks.

The workshop “Understanding Gen-AI Students: Shaping the Future of Learning Together” was organized to equip secondary school teachers with practical knowledge and AI-related skills that can be effectively integrated into classroom teaching while keeping pace with the rapid advancement of technology. In addition, the event aimed to strengthen relationships and foster collaborative networks between ICT Mahidol and secondary schools, while promoting greater awareness of the Faculty’s undergraduate programs and admission pathways.

The workshop aimed to equip secondary school teachers with practical knowledge and AI-related skills that can be effectively integrated into classroom teaching, enabling them to keep pace with rapid technological advancements. In addition, the event sought to strengthen relationships and foster collaborative networks between ICT Mahidol and secondary schools, while raising awareness of the Faculty’s undergraduate programs and admission pathways.
