On May 14, 2026, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs; Asst. Prof. Dr. Jidapa Kraisangka, Assistant Dean for Academic and Curriculum Development; Dr. Pisit Praiwattana, Assistant Dean for Organizational Communications and Media Technology; Asst. Prof. Dr. Wudhichart Sawangphol, Assistant Dean for Research; and Dr. Kanoksak Wattanachote, Instructor in the Computer Science Academic Group, warmly welcomed a delegation from the School of Information Science and Technology, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (SIST, GDUFS), People’s Republic of China. The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to explore potential academic and research collaborations at Room IT404, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The meeting focused on potential collaboration in various areas, including student exchange programs, joint academic activities and projects, and enhanced research collaboration. The meeting also served as a platform to expand educational opportunities and promote knowledge exchange among faculty members, researchers, and students from both institutions.

Following the collaboration meeting, the delegation visited the Mahidol-Bremen Medical Informatics Research Unit (MIRU) laboratory. The visit was hosted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, Chair of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Science, and Head of the Medical Informatics Research Clusters (MI) and Machine Vision and Information Transfer (MVIT) research group, together with Ms. Punyanuch Borwarnginn from the Information and Systems Division, who provided an overview of the laboratory’s research activities and operations.
The visit represented a valuable opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, as well as to foster more tangible academic and research cooperation in the future.
