Third-year students from the Bachelor of Science Program in Digital Science and Technology (DST Thai Program), Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), Ms. Panida Srisuthangkul and Ms. Boonyanuch Phongphaew, joined Ms. Diep My Tran (Team Leader), a master’s student in Biomedical Engineering at National Central University, and Ms. Nichapa Wongwan, a master’s student in Biology at Silpakorn University, in developing “EveChip,” an Endometrium-on-Chip platform for women’s health research. The project was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Chen Ching Yun from the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Engineering, National Central University. Their innovation received the “Startup Excellence Award” at the “2026 QianliMa Rising Startup Competition,” held as part of the 2026 Taoyuan Future Peak (TFP) × BIOMED-X Biomedical Innovation Matchmaking Expo on August 6, 2026, at the Taoyuan Exhibition Center, Republic of China (Taiwan).
This achievement resulted from the opportunity for ICT Mahidol students to participate in an internship program at National Central University (NCU). The program provided students with opportunities to learn and work alongside faculty members, researchers, and students from diverse disciplines in an international environment. It also enabled them to apply their knowledge of digital technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in conjunction with biomedical sciences to advance research and further develop innovations with potential for real-world applications.
Receiving the Startup Excellence Award at the 2026 QianliMa Rising Startup Competition demonstrates the potential of ICT Mahidol students to integrate expertise in digital technology and AI with biomedical sciences, as well as their ability to collaborate effectively within an international multidisciplinary team. The experience also enhanced their practical skills, teamwork, and ability to apply academic knowledge to the development of innovative solutions in a global context.
ICT Mahidol extends its warmest congratulations to both students on this remarkable achievement. Their success is another source of pride for the Faculty and exemplifies how ICT knowledge and skills can be applied to create innovative solutions that address societal needs and contribute to the future.
