On September 16, 2026, the Cybersecurity Club of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vasaka Visoottiviseth, Chair of the Master of Science Program in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance and advisor to the club, organized the “Cybersecurity Club First Meet 2026.” The event featured Mr. Ammarit Thongthua, Managing Director of Secure D Center Co., Ltd. and an alumnus from the first batch of the Master of Science Program in Cyber Security and Information Assurance, as a guest speaker. He shared fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity, vulnerability analysis processes, approaches to managing risks based on real-world scenarios, and insights into career pathways in the cybersecurity field. The activity was organized for first- to fourth-year students from the Bachelor of Science Program in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program) and the Bachelor of Science Program in Digital Science and Technology (DST Thai Program). The session was led by Mr. Nattachai Mingrattikorn, a fourth-year ICT International Program student and President of the Cybersecurity Club. The program included an introduction to the club as well as a Mini Capture the Flag (Mini CTF) competition, which provided students with an opportunity to apply their cybersecurity knowledge and skills to solve challenges based on simulated scenarios. The event was held at Computer Laboratory IT106, 1st Floor, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The activity aimed to promote learning and enhance students’ understanding of real-world practices in cybersecurity through knowledge and first-hand experience shared by an industry expert. Students gained insights into vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, and appropriate approaches to responding to cybersecurity threats in real-world situations. In addition, the event provided an opportunity for students to exchange perspectives and experiences, helping them strengthen their analytical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. These competencies will support their further studies and prepare them for future careers in the cybersecurity field.
