ICT Mahidol Organized Study Visit to Thailand National Supercomputing Center (ThaiSC) for ICT International Program Students

On November 5, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), led by Dr. Ittipon Rassameeroj, Assistant Dean for Networks and Cybersecurity and instructor of ITCS436 Parallel and High Performance Computing, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vasaka Visoottiviseth, Chair of the Master of Science Program in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, Chair of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Science and Head of the Medical Informatics Research Cluster (MI) and the Machine Vision and Information Transfer (MVIT) Research Group; Asst. Prof. Dr. Srisupa Palakvangsa Na Ayudhya; Lect. Pagaporn Pengsart; and Dr. Aniqua Nusrat Zereen, all three of whom are instructors in the Computer Science Academic Group, organized a study visit for fourth-year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology (ICT International Program) to the Thailand National Supercomputing Center (ThaiSC), located at Thailand Science Park and operated under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). The students were warmly welcomed by Dr. Putt Sakdhnagool, Head of the Supercomputer Infrastructure Operations Team (SIO) at ThaiSC, who delivered a presentation and led a guided tour of the center’s high-performance computing infrastructure and operations.

The visit aimed to enhance students’ foundational knowledge and understanding of parallel computing and high-performance computing (HPC), particularly their applications in processing large volumes of data and conducting in-depth time series analysis. Students also had the opportunity to learn directly from experts about the operation of national-level computing infrastructure, enabling them to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications in real-world settings. The experience further strengthened their technical knowledge and skills while preparing them for further studies and future careers in technology-related fields.
