ICT Mahidol Welcomed Delegates from KT Corporation to Discuss Potential Collaboration in Technology and Innovation

On August 27, 2026, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), together with Dr. Wannarat Suntiamorntut, Deputy Dean, welcomed Mr. Eunkook Kim, Vice President & Head of AX New Business, and Mr. Alex Lee of the AX New Business Development Team from KT Corporation, Republic of Korea, for a discussion on potential collaboration in technology and innovation at Room IT122, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The discussion focused on developing collaboration between ICT Mahidol and KT Corporation, one of the largest telecommunications companies in the Republic of Korea, with plans to initiate a pilot collaboration with Mahidol University’s AI Innovation & Technology Centre. The collaboration aims to foster the co-creation of research and innovation with potential for commercial application, particularly in the areas of AI Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Smart City technologies.

The collaboration also aims to apply advanced AI technologies to create new opportunities and generate greater value for the digital economy, while supporting the development of innovations that address the needs of industry, society, and future urban development. In addition, it seeks to strengthen connections among researchers, innovators, and AI experts from Thailand and the Republic of Korea, promoting the exchange of knowledge and experience as well as the joint development of advanced AI technologies that can contribute to a stronger technology and innovation ecosystem in the region.

The meeting provided another valuable opportunity to strengthen and expand ICT Mahidol’s network of collaboration with an international technology organization. It also aligns with the Faculty’s commitment to fostering partnerships between academia and industry, as well as promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise to advance education, research, and innovation in response to the evolving global digital technology landscape.
