6 ICT Mahidol Students Participated in the ICT Internship Abroad Program at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (LHU) and Smart Healthcare Study Visit at Taichung Veterans General Hospital, Republic of China (Taiwan) 

From May to August 2026, six students from the Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology (International Program), Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), participated in the ICT Internship Abroad Program at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (LHU), Republic of China (Taiwan), under the supervision of Dr. Petch Sajjacholapunt, Deputy Dean for Administration and Human Resource. The six participating students were as follows:

  • Miss Jinnapat Jaiphoom, 3rd-year student
  • Miss Peeraya Thaveemaitree, 3rd-year student
  • Miss Virada Klinthongchai, 2nd-year student
  • Miss Nuttaya Jirathanapaiboon, 2nd-year student
  • Mr. Saw Say Hae Khu, 2nd-year student
  • Mr. Nyi Thant Aung, 2nd-year student

During the program, the students not only gained hands-on experience in conducting research projects in collaboration with faculty members from Lunghwa University of Science and Technology but also had the opportunity to visit Taichung Veterans General Hospital. The visit was led by Dr. Lu Liang-Jun, Director of the University’s Center for Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development (USR Center) and Associate Professor in the Department of Multimedia and Game Development Science. He led a group of students from Mahidol University, together with students from Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Taiwan, in exchanging knowledge and discussing potential collaboration on integrating game technology into smart healthcare systems.

During the visit, Dr. Chou Yuan-hua, Vice Superintendent of Taichung Veterans General Hospital, and his team warmly welcomed the participants and guided them through the smart wards, medical simulation rooms equipped with Virtual Reality (VR) technology, and simulated patient care facilities. Through this visit, the students gained insights into the practical applications of smart healthcare technologies, as well as the requirements involved in developing such systems based on real-world healthcare experiences.

The experience gained from this program not only strengthened the students’ professional skills and ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds but also provided them with valuable insights into the application of digital and game technologies in advancing future smart healthcare systems.
