On July 16–17, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), underwent the MU AUN-QA Assessment 4.0 for its Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Science. The assessment took place at Room IT404, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, and online via Zoom Meeting. On this occasion, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of ICT; Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs; Asst. Prof. Dr. Jidapa Kraisangka, Assistant Dean for Academic and Curriculum Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, Chair of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Science, and Head of the Medical Informatics Research Clusters (MI) and Machine Vision and Information Transfer (MVIT) research group; together with the program committee members, welcomed the assessment panel.
The assessment panel was led by Dr. Nuttaphon Onparn from the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, who served as the lead assessor, while Dr. Neungrutai Senarath from the Mahidol University Amnatcharoen Campus Establishment Project served as an assessor. Throughout the two-day assessment, the panel reviewed the program’s management and quality assurance system, evaluated their implementation against the MU AUN-QA 4.0 criteria, and provided constructive recommendations for continuous quality enhancement. The assessors also conducted interviews with key stakeholder groups, including academic staff, support staff, current students, alumni, and employers, to gain comprehensive perspectives on the program’s performance. In addition, the panel visited the Faculty’s learning facilities, laboratories, and student support facilities before presenting feedback and recommendations to further strengthen curriculum management, teaching and learning, research, and student learning outcomes in accordance with international quality standards.
The MU AUN-QA Assessment 4.0 is Mahidol University’s quality assurance framework for academic programs, developed based on the principles of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and aligned with the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework. It evaluates academic programs across eight key criteria: Expected Learning Outcomes, Program Structure and Content, Teaching and Learning Approach, Student Assessment, Academic Staff, Student Support Services, Facilities and Infrastructure, and Program Output and Outcomes. The assessment serves as an important mechanism for driving the continuous improvement of academic quality and strengthening the University’s quality assurance system. It also reflects ICT Mahidol’s commitment to producing highly qualified graduates and researchers in computer science who possess advanced knowledge, strong research capabilities, and the innovative skills required to conduct impactful research and develop technological innovations that address the evolving needs of society and the global technology landscape.
