On March 30 – 31, 2026, faculty members and staff from the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), were invited to serve as speakers for a training program entitled “Using Generative AI for Cybersecurity Applications.” The program was attended by more than 40 personnel from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, including both central and regional office. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Virit Viseshsindh, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, at The Twin Towers Hotel, Bangkok.
The training program featured the following sessions:
- “Hands-on Workshop on the Application of AI Technologies in the Workplace” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant to the President for Research, Mahidol University, and a faculty member in Computer Science Academic Group
- “Hands-on Workshop on Creative Design using Canva AI” by Dr. Sujika Srinuntakul, Assistant Dean for Quality Development and Knowledge Management
- “Cybersecurity Awareness and Ethical Considerations in the Use of Artificial Intelligence for Government Operations” by Dr. Ittipon Rassameeroj, Assistant Dean for Infrastructure and Technology
This training program was organized by the Ministry of Industry with the objective of enhancing participants’ understanding of the fundamental principles of Generative AI and other AI tools. The program was designed to strengthen capabilities in planning, performance monitoring, data analysis, and evidence-based policy decision-making, as well as to promote innovation within organizational contexts. In addition, the program emphasized the importance of cybersecurity awareness, equipping participants with the ability to recognize and mitigate cyber threats, understand the ethical implications of AI applications, and develop a foundational awareness of precautions in the use of AI in professional practice.
