On February 26, 2026, Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Pisit Praiwattana, Assistant Dean for Organizational Communications and Media Technology; and Dr. Wannarat Suntiamorntut, an instructor in the Computer Science Academic Group, extended a warm welcome to Ms. Hong Phuc Dang, Founder of FOSSASIA (Singapore), on the occasion of her visit to discuss potential academic collaboration. The meeting was held at the IT404 Meeting Room, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The purpose of the meeting was to present an overview of FOSSASIA’s work in advancing technological development and fostering open-source communities across Asia. The discussion also explored ways to enhance students’ potential through active participation in real-world open-source projects, such as the Google Summer of Code program, as well as internship opportunities with FOSSASIA and its partner network. In addition, both parties discussed the possibility of encouraging students to participate in the FOSSASIA Summit through study visits or co-curricular activities.
