On February 7, 14, 21, and 28, 2026, and March 7, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized a training program entitled “Deep Learning for Face Re-ID and Liveness Detection” for personnel from TMBThanachart Bank Public Company Limited (TTB). On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Worapan Kusakunniran, Chair of the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Computer Science, and Head of the Medical Informatics Research Clusters (MI) and Machine Vision and Information Transfer (MVIT) Research Lab, served as the instructor. He delivered lectures and hands-on training on technologies related to face recognition and face re-identification (Face Re-ID) as well as liveness detection, which are essential for biometric identity verification systems. The training was conducted both online via Microsoft Teams and onsite at the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The program aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of digital image fundamentals, neural networks, and deep learning concepts, while also developing practical skills in designing, building, and optimizing Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) models. Participants learned about the development process of Face Re-Identification systems, the application of CNNs for feature extraction, and techniques for liveness detection in both 2D and 3D approaches. The training also provided opportunities for participants to apply the acquired knowledge to real-world project development and practical applications.
