ICT Mahidol Organized “Build with Kiro: AI Coding Workshop” to Enhance AI-Assisted Software Development Skills Using AWS

On October 28, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), in collaboration with AWS Academy and AWS Tech Alliance, organized the “Build with Kiro: AI Coding Workshop.” On this occasion, Dr. Ittipon Rassameeroj, Instructor in the Computer Science Academic Group, welcomed the participants. The workshop featured Mr. Chaisit Choosong and Mr. Chayothai Prasertsri, AWS Instructors, who shared their knowledge and insights into the use of Kiro and artificial intelligence (AI) in software development, covering project initiation, code development and refinement, and application deployment on AWS. The workshop was held in Rooms IT211–212, 2nd Floor, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in AI-assisted software development through hands-on learning. Participants gained practical experience using Kiro, from installation and system configuration to essential AI-assisted development techniques. Key topics included Vibe Coding, which uses AI to translate requirements into code; Spec-Driven Development, which provides a structured approach to software planning and implementation; Steering Documents, which establish project-specific context and instructions for AI; Agent Hooks, which automate tasks in response to predefined events; MCP Integration, which enables access to relevant resources through AWS Documentation; and Agent Skills, which enhance AI agent capabilities to support more efficient software development workflows.

Additionally, participants gained hands-on experience in developing and deploying applications on AWS, further strengthening their understanding of AI-assisted software development. The knowledge and practical skills acquired during the workshop can be applied to future software development projects, enabling participants to collaborate more effectively with AI tools in their professional work.
