ICT Mahidol Hosted the MUICT-AST x Industry TechConnect 2026 Seminar on “Typhoon – Thai LLM”

On March 11, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized the academic seminar “MUICT-AST x Industry TechConnect 2026” under the topic “Typhoon – Thai LLM.” The event was officially opened by Dr. Petch Sajjacholapunt, Deputy Dean for Administration and Human Resource, who delivered the welcoming remarks. The seminar also featured Mr. Warit Sirichotedumrong, Research Scientist from SCB DataX, as the keynote speaker. During the session, the speaker shared insights on the use of Local LLMs and Open-Source LLMs that enable organizations to manage data securely. He also introduced the “Typhoon” model, designed for Thai language processing and management, aimed at enhancing operational efficiency. The event was attended by students, faculty members, staff, and other interested participants at Room IT103, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The lecture was part of the MUICT-AST x Industry TechConnect 2026 seminar series, which aims to provide updates on advancements in AI and innovation through insights from industry experts. The program offered participants opportunities to explore real-world use cases and gain firsthand industry perspectives, while also fostering potential future collaborations and enhancing competencies aligned with the evolving demands of the digital job market.

The MUICT-AST x Industry TechConnect 2026 seminar series comprises a total of five topics. To date, the Faculty of ICT has conducted two sessions: “Prompt Engineering & Practical AI Tools for Learning and Work” on February 19, 2026, and “Building LINE Chatbots for Real Use Cases” on February 25, 2026. Two additional sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Wednesday, March 18, 2026 (1:00 – 5:00 p.m.) – “Agentic RAG from Zero to Hero,” delivered by Mr. Paripol Toopiroh, Solution Architect from Beryl 8 Plus Public Company Limited.
  • Wednesday, March 25, 2026 (1:00 – 4:00 p.m.) – “Agile Scrum LEGO Workshop,” conducted by Ms. Watuka Thuannimit, Software Solution Architect from Netbay Public Company Limited.
