On October 10, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol) organized the workshop “AI Image Creation Bootcamp: Creating Images with Local AI: Stable Diffusion – Prompt to Image.” The workshop was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Rawesak Tanawongsuwan, Instructor in the Computer Science Academic Group, who shared his expertise and provided hands-on training in AI-powered image generation for beginners. The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ foundational knowledge and practical skills in using Stable Diffusion through hands-on activities, enabling them to apply the knowledge and skills gained to design, public relations, media production, and other creative applications. The workshop was held at the IT105 Computer Laboratory, 1st Floor, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The “AI Image Creation Bootcamp: Creating Images with Local AI: Stable Diffusion – Prompt to Image” was designed to enhance participants’ knowledge and practical skills in AI image generation. The training covered the installation and use of open-source Stable Diffusion on local computers, prompt writing to generate images based on creative concepts (Prompt-to-Image), and the transformation of reference images or sketches into new images using Image-to-Image techniques. In addition, participants learned how to use Checkpoint Models and LoRA to control image styles, characters, and visual details according to specific requirements. The workshop also demonstrated how AI can be used to transform photographs into a variety of visual styles and introduced the concept of Local AI and Privacy, which emphasizes processing and storing data directly on users’ own computers. This approach gives users greater control over their data and supports more privacy-conscious use of AI.
