ICT Mahidol Organized the “English Summer Camp 2026: English Learning and Cross-Cultural Exchange” for a Delegation from Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, Republic of China (Taiwan)

From July 6 – 9, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized the “English Summer Camp 2026: English Learning and Cross-Cultural Exchange” at the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, for faculty member and students from Lunghwa University of Science and Technology (LHU), Republic of China (Taiwan). The program was designed to enhance participants’ English language skills through learning activities in an international environment, introduce them to the academic atmosphere and learning approaches at Mahidol University, provide opportunities to experience Thai culture through hands-on activities, and strengthen long-term academic collaboration between Lunghwa University of Science and Technology and the Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in a variety of activities focusing on language learning, technology, cultural exchange, and interactive experiences with ICT Mahidol faculty members, staff, and students. These activities aimed to foster friendships and strengthen the relationship between the two institutions. The program included the following activities:

  • On July 6, 2026, participants joined an ice-breaking activity led by Mr. Brian Marcar, English Instructor, with the objective of learning about Thailand in a fun and friendly atmosphere. They also toured the Faculty of ICT to learn about the faculty’s academic programs, learning facilities, laboratories, and teaching approaches. In addition, they participated in a Welcome Party to exchange experiences with ICT Mahidol students and staff, where they were warmly welcomed by Dr. Pisit Praiwattana, Assistant Dean for Organizational Communications and Media Technology. In the afternoon, the delegates joined a campus tour of Mahidol University, Salaya Campus, followed by an experiential learning activity at the Sireeruckhachati Nature Learning Park, Mahidol University. The activity integrated knowledge of nature, health, and Thai wisdom with cross-cultural learning experiences.
  • On July 7, 2026, participants attended basic Thai language courses designed to help them communicate in everyday situations, including shopping, asking for assistance, and explaining basic health symptoms. The morning session, titled “Thai Language: How to Shop in Thailand,” was conducted by Dr. Pattaraporn Sangaroonsilp, Instructor in the Computer Science Group. The afternoon session, titled “Thai Language Courses: Sickness,” was conducted by Dr. Pilailuck Panphattarasap, Instructor in the Computer Science Group.
  • On July 8, 2026, participants joined a Thai cultural workshop titled “Charm of Thai Handicrafts,” conducted by experts from the Ten Essential Traditional Craftsmanship (Chang Sip Mu) of the Office of Traditional Arts. Through hands-on activities, they experienced the beauty and uniqueness of Thai handicrafts. The workshop reflected the elegance of Thai art, the meticulousness of traditional craftsmanship, and the cultural values conveyed through creative learning and cross-cultural exchange.
  • On July 9, 2026, ICT Mahidol organized a technology lecture titled “AI Literacy” to enhance participants’ understanding of the fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence, the role of AI in digital society, and the responsible use of AI technologies. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Petch Sajjacholapunt, Deputy Dean for Administration and Human Resource. Following the lecture, the Faculty of ICT held a certificate presentation ceremony for the participants, with Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, ICT Mahidol Dean, presenting the certificates.

The “English Summer Camp 2026: English Learning and Cross-Cultural Exchange” reflects ICT Mahidol’s commitment to promoting internationalization through language learning, technology, and cross-cultural engagement.
