ICT Mahidol, in collaboration with the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University International College, and the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (iNT), organized the Mahidol Hackathon 2026

On March 21, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), in collaboration with the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies (MUEN), Mahidol University International College (MUIC), and the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (iNT), organized the Mahidol Hackathon 2026 under the theme “DeepTech for the Smarter Campus: Driving Sustainable Innovation with Environmental Impact.” The event was held at the Grand Auditorium, 4th Floor, Faculty of ICT, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of ICT, who delivered the opening remarks. A formal welcome to the participating students was extended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Patsarin Wongkamhaeng, Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Quality Development, Mahidol University International College. On behalf of the organizing committee, Assistant Professor Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant to the President for Research, Mahidol University, and instructor in the Computer Science Academic Group, Faculty of ICT, served as the master of ceremonies and presented the objectives of the event.

The competition featured prototype innovation presentations from 10 student teams from Mahidol University. The judging panel consisted of Asst. Prof. Dr. Aran Sriratana Tabucanon, Deputy Dean for Education and International Relations, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onnida Thongpravati, Faculty of Business Administration, Mahidol University International College; Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Noraset, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of ICT; Ms. Sriwitra Pintobtang, Assistant Director of the Division of Physical systems and Environment; and Mr. Parinya Ekapho, Managing Director of Komomi Co., Ltd.

In addition, all 10 participating teams were awarded a project development grant of 3,000 Baht per team to further support the advancement of their projects.
During the closing ceremony, Asst. Prof. Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon, Deputy Dean for Education and International Relations, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, delivered the closing remarks. On this occasion, he congratulated the award-winning teams and commended all participants for their creativity and dedication in presenting innovative ideas and projects. The event served as an important platform for promoting skills development, knowledge exchange, and the integration of knowledge toward sustainable development.

The Mahidol Hackathon 2026 was organized with the objective of encouraging students to apply deep technology (DeepTech) knowledge in developing innovative solutions for a “Smarter Campus” that is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The event provided an opportunity for students from diverse faculties to integrate interdisciplinary knowledge in addressing real-world challenges within the university through a hackathon format. Furthermore, the initiative aimed to foster sustainability awareness in alignment with the Mahidol SDGs, promote a culture of innovation and cross-faculty collaboration among ICT Mahidol, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University International College, and iNT, and support the further development of innovative projects from the competition toward real-world implementation, community impact, or commercialization in collaboration with partner organizations.
