On September 2, 2026, the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Mahidol University (ICT Mahidol), organized the activity “BCP Development and Simulation Exercise: Fire and Cyber Attack Scenarios” under the ICT Staff Capacity Building Project. The activity aimed to enhance staff members’ knowledge and understanding and strengthen their preparedness in developing and implementing a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) in response to emergency situations that may affect the Faculty’s operations. The activity was held in Room IT210, 2nd Floor, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.
The activity was honored by Lect. Pagaporn Pengsart, Deputy Dean for Infrastructure and Technology, in her capacity as Head of the ICT Working Group on Occupational Safety, Health, and Workplace Environment, who delivered the opening remarks and also served as a guest speaker alongside Asst. Prof. Dr. Ananta Srisuphab, an instructor in the Computer Science Academic Group.
The training covered two key emergency scenarios. For the fire scenario, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ananta Srisuphab provided participants with knowledge and guidelines on developing plans to respond effectively to fire-related emergencies. For the Cyber Attack scenario, Lect. Pagaporn Pengsart provided relevant knowledge and led participants through a BCP simulation exercise designed to strengthen their preparedness for cyber incidents that could affect the Faculty’s information systems and operations.
The activity focused on helping staff members understand the BCP development process, assess emergency situations, define roles and responsibilities, establish appropriate response procedures, and practice coordination among relevant personnel. These capabilities are intended to enable the Faculty to manage emergency situations effectively, minimize potential impacts, and ensure the continuity and efficiency of its critical operations.
