ICT Mahidol Participated in the 2026 Taoyuan Future Peak (TFP) × BIOMED-X Biomedical Innovation Matchmaking Expo in Republic of China (Taiwan)

From August 4–7, 2026, Prof. M.L. Chagriya Kitiyakara, Vice President for Research at Mahidol University, together with Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT Mahidol), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant to the President for Research, Mahidol University, and a faculty member of the Computer Science Academic Group, Faculty of ICT, participated in the “2026 Taoyuan Future Peak (TFP) × BIOMED-X Biomedical Innovation Matchmaking Expo” in Taoyuan, Republic of China (Taiwan). Their participation aimed to promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise in research, biomedical innovation, and artificial intelligence (AI), while strengthening international collaboration among universities, industries, entrepreneurs, and innovation organizations.

Organized by the Taoyuan Youth Affairs Department, the event served as an important platform connecting startups, business incubators, and innovation organizations from various countries. It sought to foster technological collaboration and innovative business development through a wide range of activities, including innovation showcases, startup competitions, international forums, and international business and research matchmaking sessions.

The event featured three international forums, bringing together representatives from leading organizations, including Hon Hai Technology Group, PwC Taiwan, UC Davis Health, the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei, Mahidol University, and ANCHOR KOBE. The forums provided a platform for exchanging knowledge and perspectives on key technologies and future industry trends, including artificial intelligence, biomedical innovation, smart manufacturing, green technology, and the development of digital healthcare systems.

On this occasion, Mahidol University executives were also invited to share their expertise as distinguished speakers on the following topics:

  • Prof.  M.L. Chagriya Kitiyakara delivered presentations entitled “Building Thailand’s Biomedical Innovation Ecosystem: From Research to Real-World Impact” and “From Discovery to Clinical Impact: Building a Translational Research Ecosystem for Future Healthcare.”
  • Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat delivered presentations entitled “From Data Lake to Digital Twin: Building the Foundation for Lifelong Human Well-Being” and “The Data Foundation for Precision Healthcare: Medical Informatics, AI, and International Collaboration Toward a Shared Human Digital Twin.”
  • Asst.  Prof. Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul delivered a presentation entitled “Born Compliant: Engineering Health AI Software that Regulators Trust and Patients Deserve.”

In addition, the Mahidol University delegation participated in the “Frontiers in Biomedical Convergence 2026” workshop and the “NCU–Mahidol Joint Forum on Biomedical Innovation and Translational Healthcare,” jointly organized by National Central University (NCU) and Mahidol University. The delegation also visited research laboratories and engaged in discussions on potential research collaborations, student exchange programs, and opportunities to connect with Taiwan’s startup and innovation ecosystem.
